There’s a lots of amazing developments in the world of electric scooter sports like the new motorsport on the horizon - electric scooter racing!
The Electric Scooter Championship a.k.a. the eSkootr Championship (eSC) will race specially customized high-speed electric scooters in the downtown areas of major cities. The race has been put together to make international motorsports more available and environmentally friendly than ever before.
The first ever eSkootr season will kick off in 2021 and professional eSC teams and riders will use high-torque, customized race scooters capable of speeds reaching 100km/h (60mph).
Commenting on the announcement to Sharp Guy Magazine, Khalil Beschir, eSkootr Championship™ COO and co-founder, said, “In creating the eSC, we wanted to celebrate the concept of mobilizing cities and liberating people who have been trapped within a transport system that no longer properly works. By aligning that with a new category of motorsport – one that works for both participants and audience – we feel we can accelerate a collective conversation about mobility that will take us far into the future. When we go racing next year, it will be as a means to change motorsport and mobility forever.”
